The theme for today’s Gallery over at Sticky Fingers is Holidays.
Now, we have hardly taken any holidays since I was about ten years old. Since Chipmunk was born, I have always wanted to give him a holiday each year. Sadly, finances usually dictate that this is an impossibility.
Our first holiday came when Chipmunk was three. We went to the Isle of Man for a week, and it was the first time on a plane for both of us. Sadly, most of my pictures were lost in a laptop malfunction
Yes, I have learned my lesson – backup, backup, backup!
Our next holiday, when Chipmunk was four, was our last. Unless you count the week in Wales a couple of years ago. But I don’t really – it was more about visiting family and less about getting away from it all! Anyway, we went to Malta and Gozo for ten days.
And it was magical.
Beautiful.
Amazing.
In fact, I could quite easily have decided not to come home. I hope we’ll have another ‘proper’ holiday one day. Even better, would be one that can live up to the wonders of our Mediterranean escape!
This is one of my favourite pictures from that holiday:

We went on a ‘Pirate Cruise’ for the day around the islands of Malta, Comino and Gozo. It was stunningly beautiful, peaceful and so amazing to spend the day with my boy on a beautiful old wooden ship bobbing gently up and down on the clear waters of the Med. Bliss.
I want to do it again.
Soon.

Awesome picture! Well, your next holiday should be Mississippi. 1 vote from me. Looks like its settled. See you soon.
Memories like these are the best! I really hope you get to go again soon! There is always Canada you can come visit…
That is a super shot, love it!
Oh a pirate cruise, what a brilliant idea! Arrrrrr!

That’s such a cool picture!!! I’m not as exotic as your other two commentors but if you ever fancy a couple of days in Leicestershire then I’m your woman xx

First of all, congratulations on being able to get out of town. I love that picture of chipmunk! It is nice when we can take some time away from everyday life. I am so glad you were able to.
